Image 1 "Live, laugh, love, and dream." That is the quote that I live by. At the age of 17, those four actions have taken me very far. When I first chose to study journalism, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I enjoyed writing and talking, so I figured that journalism was a class that would be laid back and easy. I soon discovered that it entailed so much more than what I'd expected. I was introduced to a completely new world that gave me the chance to not only express myself, but also to let other people inside my mind. Journalism is a challenge for me, and I believe that it is really a taste of the real world. Journalism is what I need.

My future goals include graduating from high school with a 4.0 GPA, because I feel that there is always room for improvement. I plan on going to a four year university and majoring in Communications with a minor in English. Though I know which major I'm interested in pursuing, I have not yet picked a career choice. Once I decide what career I want to pursue, I will full heartedly commit to doing what is necessary to succeed in that career.

I have never settled on one role model. I feel that different people possess different admirable characteristics--from my mother’s strength, to my grandmother’s wisdom and forgiveness, to my step-dad's heart to be the father in my life, to my uncle’s determination for success, to my aunt’s power to not give up, or to President Obama’s courage to make a change. Each person has given me a piece of them that makes me a better person. One thing people may not know about me is that I never truly give up on myself or another individual.
