On December 13, 2008, Lincoln High senior student, Monique Palmer was shot and killed walking home from a party in Valencia Park. Their deaths affected many people in the community. ednesday, February 3, 2010, was National Letter of Intent Signing Day. Across the nation, prestigious universities convinced high school students to sign and become a Sooner, Trojan, Spartan, Aztec, or many others. They sign a letter of intent, indicating their intentions of attending that university.  As two seniors from Lincoln High,

Davon Dunn (D.D.) and Victor Dean (V.D.), put their Bulldog caps on, they signed the dotted line with intentions of going to Fresno State as future football players.

Q: Why did you decide to choose this college?

V.D.:   I felt that it was a best fit for me; I am comfortable because friends are going there.

D.D.:  I felt real comfortable with the coaches and most of my friends are going there.

Q: Where there any other factors or benefits that you liked about this college?

V.D.:  The Football team. I have a chance of starting, so that helps. Also, I will have tutors to help in my studies.

D.D.:  My father also attended that school, so I would like to continue the legacy. The closeness to home was also a huge factor.

Q: What other schools were you interested in?

V.D.:  Arizona, Colorado, and Washington

D.D.:  Cal, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, and UCLA

Q: What majors are you interested in pursuing?

V.D.: Business

D.D.: Business or Kinesiology

Q: What are your long-term goals for your sports career?

V.D.:  I plan to go to the NFL after college or play basketball with the NBA.

D.D.: Hopefully making it to the NFL, and playing on any team.

We wish these two young men luck while in college and with the football team.  Keep an eye out this fall on Saturday mornings as they play as Bulldogs for Fresno State.
