ight’s, camera and so much action made May 22 a night to never forget for many seniors. “A Royal Affair” was the theme of Lincoln’s 2010 prom. The Culy Warehouse where prom was located changed many people’s expectations of the normal location for this special dance.

The venue of prom had three parts to it. First there was the main entrance where professional photos were taken. In the next room people were able to eat, socialize and even take pictures with friends in a free photo booth. Senior, Victoria Johnson, stated, “The quality was nice and the chairs that lit up were really cool.” The last and final section was none other than the boogie spot, the dance floor.

The dance floor room was decorated with three different monitors that were playing the videos to the songs played by the DJ. The DJ kept everyone on their feet with the variety of music that was played. “I was dancing the whole time, I never sat down," stated senior Chris Quarles.

For many people, getting ready for prom was very hectic. Getting hair done early in the morning and much more had seniors up at 10:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. and even as early as 5:45 a.m. Senior Brittney Walton said, “I was up at 7:00 a.m. due to a hair malfunction, then I went to church.”

Senior John Porter, who designed his own outfit for prom said, “Creating my own outfit was interesting. I was making my vest until 4:30 the day of prom.”

Congratulations to the Prom King and Queen, Brandon Gilbert and Denai Greene.  They truly epitomize the title and very deserving of it.

Prom for many people was a night to always be remembered. As a senior, I really enjoyed prom and I will never forget the night full of laughter and fun. Prom was truly, “A Royal Affair."
