Doc Your Block: Soul Shout Poetry by Yajaira Grande
Written by Yajaira Grande
Optimistic

Optimistic faith
Vivid life
Brilliant eyes with no pain
Head twirling
Confused every morning
Today could be my last day
The rivers flow
With dazzling waters on the shore
Sparkling rocks, running down low
The sky’s reflection filled with melody
My heart aches for every moment I pretended
I could not see
Thousands starving
Waiting to get fed
Millions confused
Not knowing where life would lead
Impossible for eyes to believe
What they have not yet seen
Death that creates an image
Deep in the land
Where the worms eat your flesh
And the box where you lay
Smell so rotten
Pain after dead
Here we wait for life to end
Because we see but do not lend
We don’t lend what we have
Our minutes are on our hands
We do not seek
We do not take a peak
Ahead of where our memories will lay
With regret or penalties
Perceived life
Life full of energy
Time will pass like a dream
Stealing everything
We did not sow
Confused word
Confused pain
Confused sorrow
It’s just so great
Observing what we have not yet drank
A river with no water
The sun with no light
Can you imagine this type of life?
The one where we are suffering
The one where were meant to be
The one who walked for days to seek
Protection
Grasping
Grasping for air
But not any kind of air
But the air that softens my hair
Optimistic faith
Vivid life
Brilliant eyes with no pain
No pain
Grey hairs stick out
Back aches
I have no time to walk
Eyes going blind
I can’t be cognizant anymore
Because blurriness sweeps over me
The light I thought I could never leave
Is all of a sudden running away from me
Seconds/ beats
You will never know
If you will have a second chance
To realize if your dreams were granted
The dreams where the conscious tell you to hear
The dreams where the conscious always appears
Life is slow
Life is fast
Time
Precious time
You’ll never know where life will have its last blink
But you will know what you stored in time
What you kept in secret
What your eyes have seen
Life is just not a memory
Competition
Trapped in a world of competition!
Wake up!
Every moment is Competition!
Hello?
United States
United or against
You’re jealous, I’m jealous
Full of hypocrisy
Jealous of lies
Lies that will become alive
Lies don’t die
This is preposterous
Genocides, holocaust
All in competition for superiority
So many people dying endlessly
Competition
Strength or pride?
Pride so bad
Pride creating
Vanity
VANITY
Why do we let ourselves think
If we are better we will be more?
Immortal feelings created to hurt
School tests
Magazines
Propaganda makes
Me angry
Like the laughing sun
Burning right through my soul.
Fights of minds
Fights of the soul
Let it out but don’t let it go!
Drawn to a world full of secrets
Secrets from the past
Every day I feel that life
Sinks
Sinks
And sinks
For every competitive comment
Thrown towards you and me.
Little boy wants a toy
Little boy wants Xbox
Little boy wants more
Little children
Have Christmas
Joy are the presents,
Not the gatherings,
Nor family
But the presents
Things that will never last forever
Material-ality?
Tired!
So restlessly tired
Got to hurry! Got to win or else I am a failure
And I’ll be a ruin!
50% off I want those coach shouse
70% off I want the skirts that are blue
Gucci, Banana Republic, Versachi.
I speak product (proda)
College, T.V., media,
Got to believe
To have a perfect life
Life is so miserable
Got to have more, more,
More!
Addiction,
Addiction of competition
Creating an image of disappointment
No wisdom backing up our life sentences
Competition
Competiton.
