sela Renteria was born on May 21, 1985 in Baja California. She was in school in Mexico up until eighth grade and then moved to San Diego. Because her mom stayed back in Mexico she would go back to visit her on the weekends. After a while she just decided to live here full time.

She was born in a beautiful place called Tijuana. She moved to San Diego so she could learn English, start her high school career, and to make the American Dream come true for her. Basically, she wanted to create a better future for herself and her future family.

She attended Crawford High School, and says she had a good time there and that she wouldn’t have gone to any other high school, even if she had been given the choice. She enjoyed her time there because she met a lot of people and learned about a lot of different cultures.

South East, to her is not a bad place, even though it has a reputation of being one. She likes it a lot. The only things she doesn’t like are the graffiti and the littering, all the vandalism. She says, “I would rather live in La Jolla or Coronado because it is a prettier place and I would like to live close to the beach, but Logan is not a bad place”. She also says “I would not move back to Mexico, I think its better here”.

She had three influential people in her life; those people were her sister, her brother in law, and a school counselor. Her sister and bother in law encouraged her to finish high school so she could go to college and have a better future in store for her. The school counselor helped her look for a college. She is now the first person in the whole family (which is really big) to attend college. She is currently attending Grossmont College and on her way to becoming a nurse.
